Dear community,
I am facing an unusual Problem during installation of the SFTP adapter package on a SAP NW 7.31 PI system (dual stack). The adapter has never been installed before, so this is not an update scenario. I am using the current adapter package from the marketplace as well as the current SAP SUM 1.0 SP11.
During roadmap point 5.6 I get the message "an error has occured during the execution of the Install Java Service step.
Cannot install and start service for instance 0 on host <hostname>. Could not run OS process sapstartsrv.exe for action install service. Could not start process <path to sapstartsrv.exe>. Error while executing process <path to sapstartsrc.exe>. java.lang.NullPointerException: null java.lang.NullPointerExxception.
The log file INSTALL-AS-JAVA-SERVICE_01.log contains minimal information. The only hint given was:
the following problem has occurred during step execution: com.sap.sft.j2ee.Tools.controlservice.ServiceControllerException: Cannot install and start service ... [see above for full text].
Any ideas on how to resolve that error?
