To create a new db connection in BW(Oracle as database)

We can straight away edit the table DBCON and create the entry of the new connection but here i will try to show it with the DBACOCKPIT Tcode:-

Fill the required entries.

Test the connection but it will show the error as we have to make the entries in tnsnames.ora:-

At /sapmnt/SID/profile/oracle/tnsnames.ora,

Create an entry for the new DB connection as below:-

After making the entry again try the test connection. It should work fine.

Then Create an entry In BD54:-

Now go to RSA1:-

Add the Source system name:

Make the entries and Click save.

Thus the system is added as source system:-
