Has anyone run a CUUC process direct to HANA without DMO?
Due to reporting bugginess and some other project specific issues (where final team have great migmon experience but not DMO) we've been planning to run a CUUC process to bring a BW system up to version 7.40 first and then to run a second export/import to move that 7.40 system to HANA. (So focusing on traditional toolsets rather than DMO in this instance.)
However if anyone has run a CUUC direct to HANA (without DMO) I'd love to hear about it. There is very little said about this in SAP guides... there is this comment:
"Should you have a non-Unicode system, perform a Unicode conversion before the migration or plan a combined migration with Unicode conversion, which is technically also possible." - Best Practice Guide - Classical Migration of SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP to SAP HANA
Which suggests you could run a CUUC direct to HANA; though "technically also possible" isn't the highest recommendation ever. Between this and general recommendations from peers I've selected to run the CUUC first; then take a 2nd hop to HANA using R3load tools; but I'm reviewing this to see if there is clearly SAP support for the CUUC direct to HANA.
