I hope this is the right place to post this.

I've been trying to use the sapcontrol (webservices protocol GSOAP_HTTP) interface to perform an OSExecute webmethod, but am getting some strange responses.

I'm sending the required authentication with the command and receive a repsonse saying the the command has run (response  code 0) and the PID of the run command. However the output of the command is never returned or written to a protocol file if specified in the command line.

I've also checked by running commands such as "touch /tmp/me" and the command never seems to actually run on the remote system. Very strange!

All other webmethods appear to work as expected (GetEnvironment etc...)

Based upon OSS notes that I have seen, it appears that SAP only supports the homogeneous system copy method for moving an SAP instance from a Windows 2003 server to a Windows 2012R2 server. using the magic of VMware, I actually upgraded my Windows 2003 server to 2008, then 2012R2 and everything works fine. With that said, I want to test the homogeneous system copy method. My problem is finding a clearly-documented procedure for doing this. Here is what i want to do:

Take Server1 running Windows 2003 and central instance DVEBMGS00 and now run it on Server2 running Windows 2012R2. Note that the computer name will remain the same. I will simply take Server1 down and bring up Server2. My database is DB2 on z/OS. I also run the central services (message and enqueue servers on z/OS (under Unix System Services). My concern about the system copy is that the database is totally separate from the SAP instance on the Windows server. My SAP system is a dual-stack (ABAP+Java) BI.

What I did:

On server1, I ran SWPM's sapinst from the path:

..System-Copy>IBM DB2 for z/OS>Source System Export>Central System>Based on AS ABAP and AS Java>Database and Central Instance Export.

Once this completed, I copied the export folder to Server2. I shutdown server1.

I started up Server2 and then ran SWPM's sapinst from the path:

..System-Copy>IBM DB2 for z/OS>Target System Installation>Central System>Based on AS ABAP and AS Java>Central System

This ultimately failed and my concerns are that the dialogs request a lot of parameters that do not seem pertinent to just laying down a new central instance on this server (Server2).

My question, if there a simple way to just run the central instance on a new server? I actually tested creating a new Dialog instance and then just renaming the file structure (D00 to DVEBMGS00) and that appears to work fine (keeping the old profiles).

We had an "Lock table overflow"  issue for 30mins in our production system.. Without performing any manual actions locks got cleared after 1hr.
Now, the requirement for us is to identify who has chewed up all the resources to cause lock table overflow.. is there any way, where i can able to find out which user/transaction/program has made to happen lock overflow.

I had gone through couple of Note, SAP Recomended to update enque/table_size to avoid this problem. But, without identifying reason we don't want to increase the parameter. As, well as i also checked in STAD. But, i unable to find the exact information. Thanks in Advance.

SAP Logon Issue with Copyright Dialog Box at every single logon on QAS system

after a full database system refresh (system copy over existing test system from production system)

A similar question was asked  in February 2012 and was not answered.

From last few days, every QAS user logs into SAP, a Copyright Dialog appears with User last logon time,

every time each user has to Click Continue on the dialog box.

Normally this type of Copyright pop-up contains more information on the License

in this case the dialog box is almost empty, no license information are displayed

and yes the license of this system is fully OK

This seems to be caused by the copy of production to test system, while after the copy

we do run R3trans to import back some technical tables content,

one of the tables restored may cause this issue. We don't know which one

WE would like to solve this... any help would be greatly appraciated

I got a new SAP system and after doing some developments, I am trying to move the objects to the old one. For that I released a request and downloaded it as text files (I found some day a programme for that in SDN). When I import the request in the old system, I get this error message:

HALT: Internal error in tw_lzh (twtrans.c line 7862). Please contact the SAP support.

what is this and how to correct the problem ??  it must be in the new system, since it works perfect from the old one into the new one. Perhaps a wrong configuration in TMS ??

I have a Modeldata RFC destination where I have configured it to use 'Current User (Assertion Ticket)' mechanism in 'Logon Data' details.

When I do 'ping' on this destination, I get following error: -

'Error during ping operation: invalid configuration for destination WD_MY_MODELDATA_DEST. User ID is mandatory if neither user nor user alias is defined (See DestinationDataProvider.JCO_USER_ID).

Could you please let me know how do I proceed to solve this error.

I want to know how I can see how the jobs are set in SAP. They are not displayed in the SM37. In SM37 I see only when last time was run. I want to see how it was set to run for a specific period (one fiscal year), who is included in the e-mail distribution..

Example: RCATSTPS (we have monthly and daily), PS_RPSCO_REBUILD (CJEN) and RBPFCPN1 (CJBN)

Is SAP ERP 2005 SR2 (SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR2) supports windows server 2008 R2? Currently we are running SAP ERP 2005 SR2 with windows server 2005. We are planning for OS migration windows server 2005 to windows server 2008 R2. I got the reply from SAP they will not support it. But i have already installed and ready for Development and quality server, now I need to work for Production server. which type of issue will come with this landscape. Can we go ahead or i need to stop this activity. Our future plan is to upgrade SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR2 to ECC EHP7.

We have upgraded BI java system from 7.01 to 7.40 SP08.

After upgrade, portal url /irj working fine with direct java port 5<nn>00 and BW web reports opening fine.

But using webdispatcher url portal login page does not load correctly(all portal frames not loaded showing crossmark) only showing user/password fields.

BW reports url after giving user/password show  blank screen.

We have configured webdispatcher for both BI ABAP and Java systems redirection which are present on same host using url prefixes.

Please help to resolve this issue.

I am working on SMTP (Mail)Configuration in SAP Solution Manager 7.1. And our mail host is GOOGLE APPS.

Does any one had configured mail in SAP for hosted on GOOGLE APPS? 

Does SAP will support this as it is external (mail) server?

I read note 455140, related notes and configured accordingly.

Steps I followed:

1. parameters maintained:

2. User maintained: Dialog user with S_A.SCON profile with user address as username@<companyname>.com

In both cases I am getting error as:

Diagnosis

The message was processed successfully in the SAP system. The mail server that is supposed to receive the message for further processing requires authentication. The SAP system does not support this procedure. As a result, the message was not delivered to recipient ishan.sangai@<companyname>.com.

reports taking lot of time even for small reports so what are the parameters need to be tuned what should be the action for improving performance any threads or solution guys we have 29 wps 9 dialog 8 background 8 spool and remaining are updates and enqueue...any valuable suggestion please am facing this problem for the past one month...

i need to connect a BW 7.4 to a R/3 system 4.6C.

but in the 4.6C we have

But we don't have PI Basis plugin, so we don't have any BW transaction in R/3

My question is :

Can i install the basis plugin and then connect R/3 to BW ?

Where can i found source for basis plugin ? which version do i have to install ?

is there another way to connect R/3 without installing the basis plugin ?

I've been trying to use the sapcontrol (webservices protocol GSOAP_HTTP) interface to perform an OSExecute webmethod, but am getting some strange responses.

I'm sending the required authentication with the command and receive a repsonse saying the the command has run (response  code 0) and the PID of the run command. However the output of the command is never returned or written to a protocol file if specified in the command line.

I've also checked by running commands such as "touch /tmp/me" and the command never seems to actually run on the remote system. Very strange!

All other webmethods appear to work as expected (GetEnvironment etc...)

in SAP (for example in ST06), I can see a diskname of a disk.

There I have for example "disk1".

But in our storage system this name is unknown.

Whereform do I get the real diskname?
